Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 1-27594, described as Close twined; red wool through part of rim.  Tag "211".  Second tag "Klamath R. Tribes Att.". Per Ralph Shanks:  Twined openwork basket. The basket has a crossed warp starting knot.  The warp and weft material is probably willow.  At the start there is some material that looks like wild grape.  At the rim there is red and blue string woven in.  The basket is plain twined over one warp, with the rows spaced approximately 3/4 inch apart. The rim is trimmed.  The basket undulates.  The basket has an up to the right slant of weft twist and a rightward work direction.  The workface is on the exterior.  The basket is from Northwestern California or the Southern Humboldt Athabaskan area.
