Missing
: Hearst Museum object titled Amphora type a, museum number 8-60, described as Attic black-figure amphora type B; A, Achilles pursuing Troilos; at left, Athena; at right, Polyxena; her hydria has dropped but not broken; B, departure of warriors with chariot; at right, mantled figure; beneath horses, small mantled figure - a child (?); above each scene, lotus palmette frieze; at base, rays. height 45.7; diameter 30.7 cm. The vessel features a Homeric epic scene. Extensive breaks and repairs. Many areas filled-in. Some abrasion caused the black pigment to come off, and the orange pigment to come through. Small chips or abrasions throughout; nothing outstanding. Restoration has involved the addition of new pigment over filled-in and cracked areas - making it difficult to read cracks clearly.

Missing
: Hearst Museum object titled Bust (reproduction), museum number 21-108, described as Cast of big bust of Athena in Corinthian helmet and aegis. From a marble of Pentelic stone found near Tusculum (Rome) Roayl Glyptothek, Munich. This bust repeats the famous Pallas of Valletri in Paris and is a better sculpture. The type is the handsomest of all the Greek Minervas we have. The head and gave are long, and of masculine severity, very different from the round, almost Dutch face of the Athena Parthenos. The marble preserves the hardness of a bronze original. New: nose, part of nether lip, sections of helmet and aegis. Formerly in the Villa Albani, Rome. Went to Paris as one of Napoleon’s trophies. Piroli, Musée Napoleon I, plate 8.
