Hearst Museum object titled Kohl container, with applicator, accession number 5-13833, described as kohl container with applicator; (a) container: bamboo tube in sheath of red-dyed leather embellished with leather strips, varicolored silk thread tassels, embroidery and white shell buttons; leather and thread stopper; l. tube only 18 cm.; (b) brass applicator, tapered, angled tip; l. 17.5 cm. Sheath has separate compartment for the applicator.
