Traded widely both to north and south. Worn by men as a cape. Worn over both shoulders and tied under the chin, or draped under the right arm and tied on the left shoulder. Worn by women as a wraparound skirt. Length is regulated by pulling it up under the armpits so that it reached just about at the calf of the leg, or letting it drop farther down to touch the ankles. These styles depended on locality and period.
