Materials are shoot warps possibly hazel, conifer root weft, background overlay of beargrass, overlay design is maidenhair fern. Up to the right slant of weft twist. Most of the bottom is three strand twining with some plain twining, sides are all plain twined.  Design is two horizontal bands of open diamonds, top band with a dot in the center.  Attribution is Achumawi, Atsugewi, or Yana.

Probably cooking basket, with added weight by cooked in food remains.  Basket has straight sides, only slightly flairing.  Three strand twining and plain twining at the base, plain twined on sides, and two rows of three strand twining at the rim.  Warp sticks are probably hazel.  Conifer root weft with beargrass overlay.  Black designs are probably maidenhair fern.  Designs include V shapes on their sides and checkered pattern below the rim.
