Hearst Museum object titled Rattle, accession number 2-72551, described as Fan shaped, Olivella shells & bead device, treaded on fine wire to form a fan and handle.  A loop formed from 5 shells , ending in a large blue bead, forms a handle.  Remaining shells  - approximately 55 of them – are threaded on fine wire in successively wider bands to form a fan.  Several small blue beads are strung between shells 9.0cm  above the handle; A large yellow bead is at center, 2 pairs of large dark brown beads are embellish the extreme upper edges of the fan, and 2 clusters of grey and brown beads decorate the center of the upper fan edge. Given to donor in 1942.
