Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 2-72554, described as basket woven of cedar bark strips and bear grass.  Base is typical squared cedar bark center surrounded by 8 rows of grass forming into a rounded square.  Sides are of alternating bands of cedar bark, some died red or green, and w/ a woven band of grass at the center of the wall decorated with kayaks carrying fishermen and pairs of arrowheads.

Interior same design but purple.  B) basket; natural grass w/ two ducks and a man in a boat decorating the sides - purple.  Base is cedar bark strips.

A = Lid; center medallion (purple) is a multi-pointed star surrounded by natural band, and edged with alternating green and natural border.  Lip of basket has a purple band at edge.  B= basket; natural grass, w 3 green ducks and a purple band .5 cm from base. Reed base.  Basket and lid are tied with a red/orange cellulose ribbon topped with a red satin ribbon and a wooden duck - natural wood, highlighted with black and the words "Why Ask Me".  Base is of cedar bark strips & contains a pencil notation, "from Martha".

A = Lid; Center medallion of yellow is surrounded by lapping water band of blue/green.  A band of natural grass separates the center from a 4 purple ducks swimming along a purple band, counter-clockwise around the lid.  The lid is edged w/ an additional band of purple and a red rim.  Lip is edged with bands of blue and yellow.  All are very faded on the exterior.  B = Basket: Sides of basket are decorated with bands of purple, blue and yellow, above and below hunters in boats and ducks (purple).  The bottom is edged with red.  Base is formed from woven cedar bark stips, surrounded by purple and natural grass weaving.
