: Hearst Museum object titled Candelabra, museum number 3-30762, described as Ceramic candelabra fashioned as a woman with uplifted arms and wearing a decorated skirt. “Blouse” is painted green; skirt is decorated with a painted design of repeated feather-like figures in blue, green, and black, highlighted with brown dots of various sizes. Above the hipline is a repetitive scallop pattern. Head has green hair and a topknot of unpainted clay decorated with scallops and crosshatching. The end of each arm forms a candleholder with a central spike for holding a candle in place. Each holder is decorated with a flower-like pattern on its top surface. The entire figure is glazed with a clear glaze that renders the figure a grey tone where not painted. Inside the base is a marking, which reads, “Mexico KE” followed by a potters mark of a leaping animal.
