Image Missing: Hearst Museum object titled Tree of life, accession number 3-31551, described as CERAMIC TREE OF LIFE: Tree of life composed of a round base with conical stand from which 2 outward branches emerge. Atop the stand sits a man whose legs hang on either side, and whose arms form the ends of the base branch. Standing atop the mans shoulders and upper arms is a grey donkey, on whose back sits a man in yellow pants and white shirt with raised hands, each of which holds a bird dangling from a string. Atop the mans head is the stem of a candleholder decorated with attached leaves and the head and wings of an angel, over a yellow rosette. From her wings hang 2 birds in flight. Branching from the base branches on each side is a candleholder. On each horizontal arms sits a men; each dressed in orange pants and white shirt. From each man’s head emerge the legs of a turquoise bird with wings extended. 4 additional birds (2 yellow, 2 white) hang from various parts of the tree. 2 green cactus leaves and two red rosettes are also attached to the lower branches of the tree.
