Boiled & flat-pounded wool, then pieces are cut out and other pieces inserted and stitched into place to form the pattern.  Outer color is green w/ white inste and small green a small green inset in the center.  Reug is emborodered around the inset edges in two shades of pink.  Area between center and outer edgeis filled w/ emroidered flowers and leaves in various shades of green and mustard/gold.  Narrow band of pink embroidery forms a border around the entire rug. Pattern is very balanced.  Only one emboridery stitich is used throughout; a loop-chain where the new stitch comes up through the center of the last loop.
