Hearst Museum object titled Carving, accession number 18-1658, described as Carving, bird, hardwood, hand-carved; Bird of Paradise, carved from one piece of wood, without wings; square perforation at center for resting on top of pole (”pantar”); natural color; upper bill broken. Bird of Paradise flies deceased soul to 7th Heaven, during last “Tewah” (Flying Dead Ceremony). See 18-1649. Length ca. 88.0 cm. Width 9.5 cm.
