Hearst Museum object titled Helmet, accession number 9-18163, described as Helmet: conical helmet made of wrapped rattan, coconut husk (?), and 2 & 3 twine cordage; rattan wrapped around and put through “husk”; 2 twine cordage used for chin strap; 3 twine cordage on outside, function unknown; entire helmet darkened; collected with a vest (9-18164) and knife (9-18165). All items were traded for a carton of cigarettes.
Hearst Museum object titled Knife, accession number 9-18165, described as Knife: thin bladed iron knife with curved tip; handle is light weight dark colored wood; handle had split in it, general oval like shape; blade is rusty and has knicks in it. Use not specified.
Hearst Museum object titled Vest, accession number 9-18164, described as Vest: bark and rattan vest; rattan wrapped around edge of vest and vest loops; very thin 2 twine cordage used to bind bark sections; larger 2 twine cordage used to tie front closed and adjust shoulders of vest which are not connected to front of vest in any other way; loops used as button holes for cordage; 2 twine cotton string used in front too; collected with helmet (9-18163) and knife (9-18165). All items were traded for a carton of cigarettes.
