Hearst Museum object titled Suit and bag, accession number 10-3460a-c, described as Bagobo man's suit and bag.  a) pants - Bermuda shorts length with drawstring waist and embroidered and beaded with white beads, leg bands at hems.  b) short jacket with embroidered bands at wrist, shoulder, around hem, and on each side of lapels.  both sleeves are beaded with white beads with snowflake-like designs.  neckband is bound with fabric and bordered with white beads as are all embroidered bands.  a single brass button (US military uniform type) at neck closes with a loop of beading (white and black beads alternated.  2 small bronze bell fragments are attached by beaded strands of wire just below the button loop at the neck.  1 small pocket is attached to the inside of each side of the jacket front.  c) man's bag of woven fabric made from 97cm long strip folded at center then joined along each side.  front of bag is lavishly decorated with a 30cm x 36cm fully embroidered and beaded panel (white seed beads and shell beads), that has been applied to the foundation fabric.  a long strap is attached at the open ends then along the bottom fold, forming a backpack.  straps and bottom of applied panel are embellished with strands of beads, tassels and bronze bells (3 small, 1 large).  bottom of bag below applied panel is decorated with 6 bands of white beading in vegetal-like designs.  the back of the bag is undecorated.
