Hearst Museum object titled Cooking basket, accession number 1-11891, described as Hemispherical coiled basket of very open stitch.  Tag: "Yuki". Per Ralph Shanks:  Coiled flaring basket bowl, with widely spaced wefts.  The basket has some food residue but no signs of cooking; it is possibly a serving bowl.  The basket has a knotted start.  The coil foundation is three rods of peeled shoots with some splints.  The wefts are peeled redbud with unpeeled redbud designs.  The design is horizontal bands of unpeeled redbud.  There is one random rectangle. The rim is plain wrapped and the coil ending is slightly tapered with three diagonal backstitches.  The rim is sliced by someone after it entered in the museum. The weft fag ends are primarily bound under.  The weft moving ends are primarily bound under.  The exterior has below 5% split stiches.  The interior of the basket has below 20% split stiches.  The basket has an exterior workface with a rightward work direction and a down to the right slant of weft twist.
