Red pattern is Redbud (Cercis occidentalis).  Flat and circular. Decoration consists of two horizontal red bands of redbud encircling the sifter.

Pattern is Brake fern (Pteris quilina). Sifting tray, flat, showing signs of considerable wear.  Coiled on a bundle foundation with non-interlocking stitches.  Decoration: 2 bands of dark (possibly deep red) horizontal zigzags near rim and one similar band near center.

Flat, circular, with a grass foundation.  Also known as a parcher, this basket has a design composed of three concentric bands of red (redbud) stitches and is of a coiled construction, with grass bundle foundation; non-interlocking stitches.
