Pattern is Brake fern (Pteris quillina). Decoration: horizontal and vertical zigzag designs in black. Made of grass. Multiple rod coiling with non-interlocking stitches. Basket has been repaired at bottom and is badly damaged along rim and at bottom.

The design on this basket called "measuring worm" or "inch worm" (fide Mrs. Silva, July 1973). Mended.
