Hearst Museum object titled Carrying basket, accession number 1-10239, described as Carrying basket; twined. Warp and weft are Willow (Salix). Black pattern is Brake fern (Pteris quilina). Open diagonal twined. Entirely covered on exterior face with soaproot juice (Chlorogalum pomeridianum), rendering basket seed-tight. Reinforcing hoop at rim. Two horizontal bands of black stitches as decoration. Made of peeled and split shoots.
