Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 1-164494, described as Coiled basket. Diagonal design.
Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 1-164483, described as Water olla, in Eastern Pomo kadu o’sa, pitch-lined. Cf. 1-26918 in Steward’s publication in UCPAAE Vol. 33. Eastern Mono ollas were used to store water, not used for irrigation like Spanish ceramic ollas that were introduced to Natives in the Southwest (though Eastern Mono did implement irrigation as well). There is a handle for carrying but it is situated at the top of the basket while the spout is at the side. There is also (or supposed to be) a stopper.
