Double sided overlay twining.  Conifer root weft.  Beargrass overlay.  Designs are redbud, rim is also wrapped with redbud.  Form and design is similar to some Maidu baskets of the Sierras.

Per Ralph Shanks:  Sierra Maidu basket, due to use of double overlay beargrass technique, and horizontal designs.  Conifer root weft, black design is bracken fern root.  Warp sticks are probably maple.  Down to right slant of twist.  Rim selvage is finished with warps bound down and wrapped over to the exterior of the basket.  Plain twined, two to three weft rows immediately below the rim is plain twining over two warps.
