Hearst Museum object titled Beer cup, accession number 16-8465, described as Wooden corn beer goblet (Kero) with carved and painted design, flat base. Old split repaired with cord. Diameter 4.75 inches, height 5.5 inches. Probably from the 17th century. Under the colonial system these were made and used only by Indians in rites of the native religion. They were made to order for caciques who officiated at the ceremonies; they were made and used in identical pairs. Chicha, corn beer, was the liquid drunk from them and sprinkled on the ground or on the votive offerings.

Image Missing: Hearst Museum object titled Wooden kero, accession number 16-8462, described as Polychrome wood Kero with flaring pedestal base; base attached by dowel; split inside repaired with wire and black material; upper band filled with men and women parading in festive attire for a procession called the Chunchu dance in which they parody Indians of the tropical lowlands. The men wear plumed headdresses, tunics, mantles, Spanish-style knee breeches and shirts; they are playing panpipes. Behind them are three women in ankle-length dresses and mantles; they carry what appear to be floral decorations. A drummer boy wears a Spanish hat, knee breeches, and shirt besides the traditional tunic and mantle. In the background are parrots and nupchu flowers; these are repeated in the lower band. The pedestal base is a relatively late feature
