Hearst Museum object titled Bowl basket, accession number 1-11936, described as A tightly coiled globose basket, similar to 11934 but smaller. Tag: "Yuki". Per Ralph Shanks: Flaring coiled basket bowl, used, with food residue. The wefts are widely spaced. The start is too grimy to describe. The coil foundation is a mix of splints and rods. The wefts are peeled shoots, with some redbud at the rim. The rim is plain wrapped with a missing coil ending. There are no designs except at the rim. The basket has an exterior workface, a rightward work direction, and the majority of wefts have a down to the right slant of weft twist. The weft fag ends are primarily bound under. The weft moving ends seem to be primarily bound under. The weft stitches are often split on the back face.
Hearst Museum object titled Bowl basket, accession number 1-11989, described as Small straight sided old coiled basket with design of triangles vertically arranged. Tag: "Yuki". Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled basket food serving bowl. There is some residue on the bottom interior. The starting knot is coiled and sewn over. The coil foundation is three rods of peeled shoots. The weft background is sedge and the weft design is unpeeled redbud and a dark black material that might be dyed bulrush. The design is stacked triangles; the first triangle is possible dyed bulrush, with the tip in unpeeled redbud, topped by another full triangle in redbud, topped by a portion of a redbud triangle continuing to the rim. The rim is plain wrapped and the coil ending is blunt with no backstitching; one stitch is missing; and some rods extending beyond the last wefts. The rim and a few wefts have been sliced with a knife. The weft fag ends are clipped. The weft moving ends are concealed. The weft stiches on the exterior are less than 5% split. The weft stiches on the interior are about 30% split. The basket has an exterior workface, a rightward work direction, and a down to the right slant of weft twist. Some features of the basket are reminiscent of Huchnom design, including the use of sedge and possible bulrush; clipped fag ends and concealed moving ends; a three rod coil foundation; a coiled start; the lack of backstitching on the rim ending; and the lack of random rectangles; see pg. 117-118 of Indian Baskets of Central California for the use of rightward and leftward work direction by Huchnom weavers.

The rim coil ending is back-stitched with five diagonal stiches. The weft fag ends are clipped or bound under. The moving ends are concealed. The wefts are non-interlocking, 40% of the wefts are split on the interior and less than 10% are split on the exterior. The workface is on the exterior. The work direction is to the right with a down to the right slant of weft twist. The basket was collected from Huchnom person, Susie Riley, but appears to be made in the Yuki style by Julia Wood (Yuki).
