Hearst Museum object titled Bottle, accession number 9-12338, described as Bottle, porcelain. Cylindrical shape with almost horizontal top to small narrow neck. Small flared mouth. Underglaze blue decoration in varied tone strengths, of bamboo with leaves and stylized fruit tree blossoming, separated by grass on each side. Two bands below near base. Shoulder has octopus pattern on shoulder-top. Rim is chipped and worn, many spots on body. Recessed foot has crack. Height 13.5 cm, Base diameter 6.5cm. From Japan, Saga Prefecture (Hizen), Arita, "Imari" ware.

Hearst Museum object titled Bowl, accession number 9-12329, described as Bowl, porcelain/stoneware. Blue and white "Imari" ware. Kihara type. Wide mouth globular bowl with cobalt underglaze decoration with landscape motif. Cross-hatched band near rim in dark grey-blue. Below, on one side field design, and lines on opposite side. Blue bands on bottom and foot. Grey-white crackled ground. Rim warped to oval. Foot chipped. Rim broken and mended with gold. Height 7.5 cm, Diameter 10.5 cm. From Japan, Saga Prefecture (Hizen Province), Arita, "Imari" ware. Attributed to Late 18th - Early 19th century.

Hearst Museum object titled Cup, accession number 9-12330, described as Tea bowl, porcelain/stoneware. Blue and white, "Kihara" type. Faint blue underglaze landscape motif on opposite sides over grey crackled glaze body. Interior stained to darken crackle. Rim very worn, holes and chips. Height 7cm, Diameter 10.5cm. From Japan, Saga Prefecture (Hizen Province), Arita, "Imari" ware. Attributed to Late 18th - Early 19th century.
Hearst Museum object titled Teapot, accession number 9-15936, described as Bottle with spout: round stoneware bottle on narrow base, high shoulder slanting to flaired lip on narrow mouth (1 3/4" diameter). Spout set in shoulder. Cream glaze beginning 1" from base covers entire vessel inside and out. Over this, free-brush line designs in brown bands around middle and neck, all over pine needle cine and floral.Good condition. Height: 7 1/2", 5 3/8" diameter.  Shown on June 30, 1987 to George Kuwayama, Curator of Asian Art, LA Co. Museum of Art. Mr. K. thinks it is from Japan, possible Kyoto area kiln. Stoneware but low end in terms of firing and hardness; pine needle and abstracted designs; late 19-early 20th c. Mouth probably ground down. Probably a sake server, a folk piece in style.
