Hearst Museum object titled Askos, accession number 8-263, described as Askos; Legless, globular, “duck” shaped body; open, tubular side spout; stag head, with flat face, conical nose; antlers in front of top opening; high basket handle from rim to back; rounded knob-like tail; three button-like bosses. Incised linear decoration on body and handle consists of short, parallel slanting strokes & groups of three dots. Tip broken and missing from left antler, most of right antler missing, surface abrasion.

Incised linear decoration all over body, on neck, and handle; of parallel lines, strokes and zig-zags. Tip of spout broken and missing, tail broken, part missing, horizontal crack on rim right side. Surface abrasion. Preserved.

Neck and mouth piece abovve head, vertical handle at back, rounded and unmodeled; front masklike, base flat. Incised linear pattern on neck. and around head. Head has fleshy face, big nose, thick lips, large eyes, strand of hair at either side, roll over brow with two knobs. Wide triangular area from below chin to botom, incl. front part of base restored. Directly under spout four vertical and three horizontal swastikas. Spout broken and mended; chips missing from inside of lip. Minor surface abrasions; chip missing from left side of belly. Central motif lozenge shapes with checker-board design center flanked by 4 verticle lines the outer ones with attached horizontal lines. 4 small swastikas on body. Encircling groups of black lines and red bands. below rim and above legs. Lines on handles, legs and rim H 18 cm; Max body Diameter 21 cm. Outside rim 17.6 cm inside rim 14.8
