The warps and wefts are willow, with some possibly unpeeled willow.  Starting at the base the rim has bound down warps, the ends facing the exterior.  After that there are two weft rows of three strand twining followed by open work with plain twining every 1/4 inch. There are two weft rows of three strand twining at the upper rim. The basket has an exterior workface, a rightward work direction, and an up to the right slant of weft twist.  The basket is from Northwest California.
