Hearst Museum object titled Puppet, accession number 18-126, described as Puppet, wood; human male puppet with movable head and arms; wearing flannel shirt, cotton batik skirt, and black hat carved from same wood as head; hat: painted with floral/plant motif; end curls up, has gold tip; rim and back have leaf like designs, two protrude vertically over ears; bottom, rear of hat extends back and curls up under rest of hat; double strands of clear glass seed beads hang with red batik fabric on ends, red flannel on top of strands in front of ears; puppet body painted gold; face white with black hair, eyes, mustache and “goatee” beard; mouth faded red; shirt: blue flannel decorated with sequins, clear glass seed beads, and thin wire coils; belt, red flannel; brown one inch cloth ribbon nailed on either side of waist in back; skirt: brown, beige and black cotton batik; arms: separated pieces of wood jointed with cloth; red bracelets; sticks used to move arms; right elbow chipped; left elbow broken where joining cloth tore; tag with “Nakula” typed on it attached to skirt (maybe character’s or artist’s name).
