Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 1-67839, described as Coiled, wide mouth, sloping sides. Per Ralph Shanks and Christa Ogier. Tag says "Yuki". Shallow slightly flaring coiled basket, used, with some residue at the bottom of the basket on the interior. It has a tight spiral start. The warp material is unidentified splints, the weft material is peeled and unpeeled redbud. Fag ends are bound under and also clipped and the moving ends are bound under and also concealed. The majority of the stitches on the back face are split, the rim is plain wrapped with a blunt coil ending with 2 diagonal back stitches with a missing third. Design is comprised of three vertical columns of paralleligrams and parallel lines of unpeeled redbud. There are also random rectangles of redbud. 4 weft rows below the rim on one side there is a 2.75 inch long strand of unpeeled redbud which the weaver attached using alternate stitches of her weft elements. The workface is exterior, work direction is to the right and weft twist is down and to the right. There are no hairs located on the basket.

Hearst Museum object titled Bowl basket, accession number 1-70749, described as Coiled, bowl shape. Tag "Pomo".  Interior tag " "17NTT" Pomo". Per Ralph Shanks:  Coiled basket globular bowl.  The basket has a starting knot with a weft foundation.  The rest of the basket has a three rod foundation, probably willow.  The weft materials are sedge root as the background, with the designs in black bulrush root.  Two triangles are on the base.  On the sides are various sized triangles with quail top not like extensions.  The rim has alternating sedge root and bulrush.  The workface is on the exterior, with very few split stitches on the back face.  The weft fag ends and the moving ends are concealed.  The work direction is to the left.  The basket has a plain wrapped rim with a tapered coil ending.  This basket is attributed to the Pomo due to the materials, work direction, starting knot, and shape.
