Hearst Museum object titled Plate, accession number 9-12264, described as Plate, ceramic, wide bowl shape with flanged rim, brush stroked wisteria blossom decoration in blue and brown underglaze on center top, with a creamy white translucent overglaze, only the short foot is not glazed, many chip marks left from firing, broken and mended. Maximum diameter 29 cm, height 6 cm.

Fujina ware.  wide mouth, 3/4 sphere shape, mouth warped to oval.  heavy base, fairly thin rim.  crackled blue-green glaze, pitted inside and out.  rim has a greener cast to it.  glaze is semi-matte, runs to with-in 1.5 cm. of foot.  similar to 9-12301-309.  h. 9 cm., rim dia. 12 cm.

Grey-blue brushed underglaze decoration of an arabesque design. Continuous vine with leaves all-round the body in repeating design, on white ground. Many brown specks on body. Nicks in foot rim. Height 14.5cm. From Japan, Saga Prefecture (Hizen Province), Arita, "Imari" ware. Attributed to Late 17th century.
