Lid on mother's back represents baby seal. Carved; representing a mother seal with her baby on the back, which is also the lid. Heads and shoulders are red, rest of body light blue.  Blue is rarely seen north of Alaska Peninsula. Carving style clearly Bering Sea Eskimo. Yup'ik name: ekviutat.
