: Hearst Museum object titled Percussion gun, accession number 7-807, described as Pepperbox, percussion. Belgian, "Mariette" system pepperbox. Four round, unribbed barrels, caliber around 9mm. Self cocking, ring trigger. Marked with Liege proof marks, and barrels numbered 1 through 4. No maker's marks. Very early style made ca. 1840.
