Hearst Museum object titled Katsina figure, accession number 2-72196, described as Talavai early morning katsina (kachina); carved and painted wooden figure; blue-green case mask with tubular nose; flat and rounded red ears, Douglas fir ruff and carved feather "halo." Eyes are black rectangles, cloud symbols on cheek. Body painted red, yellow and turquoise. Wears a red and black shawl, woman's sash, decorated (red, green, black) kilt, Taos boots with red/yellow/turquoise anklets, black knee and wrist bands with tassels. Inlaid turquoise/coral bracelet on left wrist, fox pelt bustle. Carries a fir bough in one hand and a bell in the other. Terrance Lewis, carver, 1995.
