Hearst Museum object titled Baby wrap, accession number 16-20240, described as Baby wrap; 70 centimeter x 82 centimeter.; natural white weave; lower edge scalloped with embroidery; multi-colored form motifs embroidered across lower part of wrap; hemmed with overcast stitches; stiffening agent (starch?) applied to back of embroidered area.
Hearst Museum object titled Badge, accession number 9-21650, described as Imperial Era court official rank badge worn on the back of a robe (7th civil rank); tapestry (Kossu) weave central panel, framed in black and edged with narrow bias binding of silver/blue. Central Mandarin duck is both painted and woven in green, blue, pink and yellow w/ gold wrapped details on it’s back; duck stands on a blue rock over blue & white water and waves, and is surrounded by Buddhist and Taoist symbols and clouds against a gold wrapped sky ground; red Imperial sun in upper left corner. Symbols are painted in detail. Backing is a coarse open weave fabric [sacking?].

Front panels; W=15.5cm, L=30 cm. Back panel, W= 29.5 cm, L=32 cm. Black ground fabric w/ central egret surrounded by blue and gold water, clouds & Buddhist & Taoist symbols. Embroidery is dark, medium & light blues, off-white, gold, orange-red. Back (c) is one piece. Front (a) and (b), has been split in half, through image. Gold couched, Greek -key patterned border on all edges on a blue/black ground. Black lining.

Sleeves 12 cm x 16 cm. with red rick rack and 1 cm. black stripe as trim. Mola:, 47.5 cm w.x 37.5 h. Back; mirror images; 2 facing long plummaged birds w/ wide tails attached to/riding on backs of 2 tapir -like animals; animals and all background space filled w/ vertical linear reverse applique openings over pieced backing in orange, blue, pink, printed , yellow, magenta, jade green, olive green.; fine stitching and chain embroidery decorate the faces and legs and outlines of animals. Front; virtually same design, but animals have red top layer over orange ; back, yellow, over red base fabric.background.

Hearst Museum object titled Mola, accession number 3-30190, described as Molas, matched pair; 99 cm x 43.5 cm; sewn together; top edge unfinished ; bottom has bound hem edge in red plain cotton material; main panel bodies made of 3 layers. Left central motif is 2 birds in miror image with a smaller motif shape in center below attached tails of birds.; filler, rectangles. Right panel central motif two mirror image winged dogs(?) with clawed feet; rectangular fillers . Top layer orange, second layer red, bottom layer yellow. ; colors orange red yellow, blue, green, pink, brown, taqn and gold tan.
