Hearst Museum object titled Basket, accession number 1-157463, described as Coiled; elliptical in form with a pedestal base. Decoration: horizontally-placed figures consisting of solid black triangles arranged in a pyramid-like fashion. 3-rod coiling with interlocking stitches and herringbone finish at rim.

Hearst Museum object titled Treasure basket, accession number 1-157446, described as Twined globular trinket basket. Tag "Klamath River Tribes att". Per Ralph Shanks: Twined globular basket bowl, probably made for sale. Crossed warp starting knot. The warp material is probably hazel. The weft material is conifer root. The weft overlay design is beargrass, red dyed woodwardia, and maidenhair fern. Starting at the starting knot, there is 1/2 inch of three strand twining, followed by 1 1/2 inches plain twining, followed by 1 weft row of three strand twining. Plain twining continues to 1 inch below the rim where there is a single weft row of three strand twining followed by plain twining, followed by 1/4th inch of crossed warp open work. The rim appears to be comprised of 2 weft rows of twining with a reinforcing rod wrapped with beargrass and red dyed woodwardia. The main design is nine horizontal checkered two-weft-row-wide bands. The basket has a rightward work direction, with up to the right slant of weft twist. The workface is on the exterior. The overlay is single-sided, on the exterior. The basket is from Northwest California. There is a hair woven into the rim.
