F.C. 1.1 “To carry fish line beyond surf so fisherman can stay on land. According to the Cooke-Daniels Expedition Register, these kites were used to catch garfish. They were inteneded to be flwn from a canoe. A line is supposed to hang from the tail (line missing in our ex.) ending in a pad of spider’s web whih is jerked along the surface of the water and in which the fish’s teeth become entangled.” See B.A.L.
