Hearst Museum object titled Fan, accession number 11-14674, described as Fan, feathered, with handle; fan head circular with white, yellow, purple, pink and orange feathers around edge; feathers have been smashed in storage; center has polished tortoise shell disk; woven plant material (pandanus?) goes around disk, ties into it and each following row of twisted foundation element; handle same material; square bottom; goes to point where ties into disk center; handle material strips dyed pink, blue, yellow, purple, and orange. length - 32 cm (feathers included)

Hearst Museum object titled Hat, accession number 11-14670, described as Hat, palm spathes, cloth, and wood ( bamboo?); sewn together with commercial thread; spathes cut to point,, one broken off, several cracked; each spathe painted red and black, central area left natural color; enclosing hoop ( bamboo?) painted blue; band painted with red triangles, one inverted black triangle, front center; band bottom encircled with red, yellow, white, and blue cut pieces of cloth possibly to represent feathers; hoop at bottom ( bamboo?), unpainted; red cloth strap to tie hat to head. 29.9 cm 1.

Hearst Museum object titled Puppet, accession number 18-126, described as Puppet, wood; human male puppet with movable head and arms; wearing flannel shirt, cotton batik skirt, and black hat carved from same wood as head; hat: painted with floral/plant motif; end curls up, has gold tip; rim and back have leaf like designs, two protrude vertically over ears; bottom, rear of hat extends back and curls up under rest of hat; double strands of clear glass seed beads hang with red batik fabric on ends, red flannel on top of strands in front of ears; puppet body painted gold; face white with black hair, eyes, mustache and “goatee” beard; mouth faded red; shirt: blue flannel decorated with sequins, clear glass seed beads, and thin wire coils; belt, red flannel; brown one inch cloth ribbon nailed on either side of waist in back; skirt: brown, beige and black cotton batik; arms: separated pieces of wood jointed with cloth; red bracelets; sticks used to move arms; right elbow chipped; left elbow broken where joining cloth tore; tag with “Nakula” typed on it attached to skirt (maybe character’s or artist’s name).
