Hearst Museum object titled Rug, accession number 2-72071, described as RGM bag of hand-spun yarn of various natural colors, and a small hand weaving.  I think this weaving fragment was made by RGM when she first became interested in weaving, using material found at her mother's house in Napa.  Her mother, Gertrude Curtis Gould, had a huge spinning wheel in the dining room, and spun her own wool through at least 1945, because I remember her doing it.
