Hearst Museum object titled Rug, accession number 9-23739, described as rug, mafrash Nicely made with careful work and little imagination. Little variation in width of stripes. Colors: scarlet, maroon, blue, green, black and white. Sewn together in the middle; made in 2 panels. Ends with one double row of weft twining. One fringe plied, the other 2 plaited/braided in a variety of styles and widths. Faggotting in center sturdy and handsome. S-plied. Not sure if commercial dye, could have some plant dyes. Warp-faced plain weave. 13EPI.
