: Hearst Museum object titled Papel picado, accession number 3-31152, described as 2, LIKE, CUT TISSUE PAPER SCENES: 2 identical Day of the Dead scenes; magenta tissue paper. Features a skeleton riding a bull and a devil “matador” cape-ing the bull. Figures stand on a ground line cut to look like slightly uneven ground. A lattice forms the background. Bottom edge is cute with an elaborate floral border including blossoms tendrils, leaves and swirls. Right and left edges are zigzagged. Upper edge is plain. (NOTE: some fading on or near fold lines and at base of bottom border)

: Hearst Museum object titled Papel picado, accession number 3-31151, described as CUT TISSUE PAPER SCENE: Nativity scene; navy blue tissue paper. A lattice forms the background within the stable. Mary, Joseph and Christ child (in manger) are bottom center, with a stable arching over them. A dove ascends from above the child and a star is at the top of the roof of the stable. Roof is cut with shingles and the sides are decorated with floral swags. To left and right of the stable is flowering cactus and at top are the star’s tail and small blossoms. A frieze along the bottom is composed of disk shapes cut with faces. Right and left edges are finished with a decorative scallops with points. Top edge is plain.

: Hearst Museum object titled Papel picado, accession number 3-31153, described as CUT PAPER SCENE: Small, metallic blue, cut paper scene with scalloped edges. Features a bird, 4 flower blossoms, branches with leaves and tendrils, and the words: “Feliz Noche Buena”. Appears to have been stamp cut.
