Hearst Museum object titled Bottle, accession number 9-12337, described as bottle, porcelain.  cylindrical shape w/ almost horizontal top above shoulder, to short narrow neck and small flared mouth.  brushed underglaze cobalt decoration over entire body:  Octopus pattern on upper 2/3rds of body composed of spiral lines w/ perpendicular strokes like saw teeth.  lower third has vertical strokes enclosed by horizontal bands, all underglaze in varied strengths of blue on white ground.  H. 11.5 cm.  Base dia.  6 cm.
