Zigzag design in main area, rectangular design around rim, in dark brown on wheat colored ground, dark brown framing lines. Conifer root, white grass, Woodwardia fern overlay, wrapped rim. Per Ralph Shanks: Base is three strand twining, side is plain twining, overlay is beargrass. Design is in two different black materials, one of which is maidenhair fern stems, forming subtle stripes. Reinforcing rod at rim, wrapped in redbud. Conifer root wefts. Basket could be made by Wintu, Achumawi, or Atsugewi.

The base is three strand twined, sides are plain twined, reinforced rim wrapped in redbud. Warp sticks are hazel. The wefts are conifer root. Overlay background is beargrass. Designs are probably in redbud. Below rim is a design of a band of diagonal parallelograms. There is a larger mid-level design around body and then third thin star-shaped design around base. The redbud has bloom. Non-native string on rim. Probably made for sale, as there is no evidence of use.
