Hearst Museum object titled Seal, accession number 9-17375, described as Stamp seal. Quartz: agate. Lioness (or tiger ?) in right profile, standing. Three branched plain field overhead. Left front paw is visible behind front right left paw. Long feline tail curled upward, rounded feline type ears. In reference to identity of image, the suggestion of lioness or tiger originated out of a conversation with and first hand visual examination of seal and impression by Dr. Phillippe Gignoux on May 23, 1988. Condition: some chipping in translucent band at lower edge of carved surface. Back of sphere has rounded indentation that has carved look. Another hole carved or chipped on white banding.
