Hearst Museum object titled Tunic, accession number 9-22591, described as navy blue cotton coat, with kimono collar, sides slit and bound to waist.  back panel at skirt completely embroidered as are 18cm band on each sleeve.  collar band completely embroidered and edged with a band of alternating blue and white beads and magenta thread tufts.  back of neck band has a red and white appliqued panel.  at back of neck is an assemblage of 6 french coins attached to a silver chain.  the end coins have silver chains and bells suspended from them.  all are attached over 7 magenta tassels which are topped by blue and white beads.  center back of jacket appliqued with a small embroidered panel.  all edges (lapels, sleeves, side slits and hem) finished with a red/white and blue woven tape.
Hearst Museum object titled Tunic, accession number 9-22592, described as dark navy blue with long sleeves.  plain neckline, side-slits (31.5cm) to hip.  embroidered detail and tassels at top of slits.  embroidered decoration at back hem, neckband, sleeves, center back and on each front panel.  neck band is finished with red, white, orange and black narrow band.  center front opening band with alternating red and white cuffs bound with band of red white and blue with orange stitching.
Hearst Museum object titled Tunic, accession number 9-21167, described as (9-21167 = D1).  Child’s tunic.  Consists of virtually identical front and back, and 2 identical sleeves.  Front and back have 23.5cm W band across lower part of shirt.  Band has stripes of red, blue, blue warp ikat, blue with white warp floats, and blue with white supplementary weft patterns, all bordering white band with red supplementary weft patterns.  Near end of these supp. weft patterns are 2 wrapped warp(?) lines, one red, one blue; beyond patterns, this white band is undecorated.  Top parts of front and back are blue with narrow bands of red, blue, and white patterns. Outer shoulder edges of front and back are sewn together with decorative red and white stitching, including red and white “lumps” of thread.  Underarm area of sleeves, and of front and back, not sewn to each other, resulting in open underarms and, probably, greater comfort and ease of mobility.  Lower sides of front and back stitched together with a different decorative red and white stitich, also with “lumps” of thread.  Top of sleeves, underarms of front and back, and sides of front and back, have one to several ~13cm L (except one, which was cut) red and white hanging threads with spaced red or red and white thread tassles, or white balls of pressed material.  Sleeves appear to be rectangles sewn together in such a way as to create slight tapering from shoulders to wrists.  Patterns on sleeves very similar to those on front and back, but lacking in textured patterns (i.e., no supplementary weft, warp floats, or wrapped warps).  Neckline to waist = 42cm.  Side to side = 33cm.  Sleeves =  41-42cm L.
Hearst Museum object titled Tunic, accession number 9-21193, described as tunic, men’s.  jacket-style tunic with wrist-length sleeves, standup collar, left side of front shaped to extend and tie over right side.  fully lines with unevenly dyed light-dark blue plain weave cloth pieced together.  appears unfinished: 2 string ties left side front lack corresponding ties as right side; right side center-front un-hemmed, and lining and outer cloth not attached; right front only has piece of dark blue cloth sewn to bottom edge; lower edges front and back with different lengths lining and outer cloth, all un-hemmed and not attached to each other.  hole noted near center back lining approx. 8-9 cm from lower edge.  outer cloth black.  sleeves with stripes of blue and black cloth wrist to mid-sleeve, ending at mid-sleeve with stripes of red and off-white cloth.  armholes to over shoulders with bands of appliqué on both sides of panel of red, green, black, and blue cross-stitch embroidery on off-white background extends around collar.  left side front with sewn-on panel of blue cloth with appliquéd bands on both sides central cross-stitched embroidered band.
Hearst Museum object titled Tunic, accession number 9-21168, described as (9-21168 = D1.)  Child’s tunic.  Consists of virtually identical front and back, and 2 identical sleeves.  Waist to underarms on front and back have stripes of red, blue, blue warp ikat, yellow, blue with white warp floats, and blue with white supplementary wefts, all bordering central white band with red supplementary weft.  Several red and blue lines of wrapped warps (?) across this central band.  RE:  blue bands with white supp. weft patterns:  on one side of shirt only, one pair of these patterns includes red thread.  Top parts of front and back are blue with narrow bands of red, yellow, blue, and white patterns. Outer edges of neckline sewn together with decorative red, or red and white, stitching.  Sleeves, and front and back, sewn together at upper armholes with decorative red and white stitching.  Lower part of armholes not sewn together, leaving underarms open and providing, presumably, greater comfort and ease of mobility.  At shoulder sides of sleeves, there is ~7-8cm decorative red and white stitching on top of sleeves.  On one sleeve only, this stitching ends in white thread sewing 5 red beads to sleeve.  Below armholes, front and back sewn together with fine red and white thread and decorative stitching.  Each sleeve casually sewn together with blue thread.  Patterns on sleeves very similar to front and back patterns, but lack textured patterns (i.e., no supplementary weft, warp floats, or wrapped warps.)  Neckline to waist:  33cm.  Side to side:  34cm.  Sleeves:  37-38cm.
