Hearst Museum object titled Blanket, accession number 9-18238, described as Blanket (all-purpose for wrap, hammock, baby carrier, etc.): black background with spaced bands of geometric patterns and stripes in white, yellow, black; ends fringed and banded with strip of wavy linear patterning. A machine-made copy of tribal textile (probably Jarai or Rhade) using tribal patterns. Made for sale at Montagnard market in Saigon. Not clear if actually made in Saigon. Probably bought new by donor.
Hearst Museum object titled Blanket, accession number 9-18234, described as Blanket (all-purpose cloth used for wrap, hammock, baby carrier, etc.): indigo ground; patterned bands of fine geometric designs and stripes on broad strip of red ground on both ends of blanket (there is a continual variation in pattern in these bands). Made from 4 pieces of handwoven cotton hand-stitched together; natural dyes (indigo and cocchineal red (?)); black weft thread; supplementary warp design; rolled hand-stitched hems.
