Hearst Museum object titled Blanket, accession number 5-16402, described as narrow loom woven textile composed of 10 bands sewn together lengthwise. pattern forms a checkerboard of alternating navy and neutral squares. 20-22 cm from each end, at center of blanket, 2 rows of blocks are decorated with red, yellow, neutral, and navy figures. 1 block with a pair of stripes of yellow and red, blue or blue and red. randomly placed in the row. hand woven, thread hand spun.
Hearst Museum object titled Blanket, accession number 5-16406, described as Oyo blanket constructed from 9 bands of narrow loom woven heavy cotton. bands joined lengthwise and finished with warp fringe. blue and white stripes of various widths accented by double bands of patterned stripes (diamonds and vertical bars) every 15-16cm. bands are 12cm and 13.5cm wide.

Purchased from Hausa man at Accra market. Conservation: Stained.
