Hearst Museum object titled Cowrie shells, accession number 5-15949, described as 130 cowrie shells strung together in 5 strands, knotted together on one side. These are strung in singles, not overlapping. Fiber is braided first, then cowries are strung on and re-braided then knotted. Each strand has between 25 and 27 cowries. Overall length: 54.5 cm.
