Hearst Museum object titled Earring, accession number 18-1253, described as Earring, large silver hoop with single opening. “Jui told me that his wife wore this ‘isang’ seven years ago before she had her ear lobes cut off. I inspected her ears closely before I could see the scars. Jui said that up to 40 ‘isangs’ are worn in each ear by Dayak women.” Cost of this specimen approximately $3.00. Diameter 6 cm.

Bag pattern is geometrical in natural, and black. Staps have black, blue, yellow, green beads in swirl pattern. A girl from Long Kuling wove the bad in about a week, three years ago [as of 1981]. The beadwork on the straps was done about 30 years ago [as of 1981] in three days by girl now dead [as of 1981]. The rest of the straps were made by a boy. For general carrying. Length 89 cm. Bag length 35 cm.

Hearst Museum object titled Necklace, accession number 18-1258, described as Necklace, beaded, with coins. Orange, white, blue, red, green, yellow beads in hollow, criss-cross string. Five coins dangle together at end. String 52 cm long. Coins 1 1/2 cm diameter. From trader from Sarawak - Borneo. “as is customary, these beads were purchased by a local resident from a Dayak trader who came from Sarawak, Borneo. These beads were made in Czechoslovakia or some other place in Europe and exported to Sarawak.”
