Hearst Museum object titled Shawl, accession number 5-15858, described as Shirt. Netted short-sleeved shirt with tassels at neckline front, sleeve edges, around mid-chest, and at lower hem. Off-white yarn. Attached tag reads, “#4” and “1976 - AWP - cotton 'string shirt’ - netting with tassels - purchased in Ouagadougou, Upper Volta”. Neck at back of shirt to lower edge of tassels: 54cm. Across chest: 34cm.

Rectangular cloth, yellow warp, red weft with multicolored “crocodile, throne, 'bowl’, and fish” in supplementary weft. Warp ends ravelled. Black and white selvedge-to-selvedge stripes at each end. Attached tag reads, “#9 - Fon Palace weaving - cotton - red and yellow with inlaid crocodile- throne, bowl? - fish - Abomey, Dahomey - Palmer - 1976”. 190cm x 30cm
