: Hearst Museum object titled Satchel, accession number 2-4764, described as Tanned hide (moose/elk?); sewn-on fringe with red and tan thread embroidery on satchel flap and around front of satchel; three tears on front which have been sewn; hole in back on top may be from a bullet or peg during hide preparation. Two tears on flap, sewn. Hide strap, sewn on. Front of satchel shows beginnings of embroidery with red and tan thread.
