Hearst Museum object titled Shawl, accession number 7-10194, described as From Cat Card: Rectangular stole of un-decorated pink silk chiffon with fringe. Narrow ends folded under and hemmed - fringe applied to these ends only. Stole appears to have been completely constructed then dyed: note that the dye has not penetrated knots well, and note un-dyed areas where knots have slipped. Different materials dyed in the same dye-bath often come out different colors; apparently this happened here. Result is fringe and fabric of different hues. Tag labelled "11s" tied to fringe. c1926
